Rumors.

You walk down the hallway, your arms hugging your binders close to your chest. A bead of sweat trickles down your neck, and your breath becomes haughty. Your eyes flicker back and forth as you walk down the hall, silently scanning the faces of all the onlookers. As people see your face and your enclosed posture they begin to gossip, their eyes scanning you just as your eyes were scanning them- but a different emotion appears in their eyes, Bloodlust. “Did you hear?”, “Are you sure?”, “That’s her.”- You hear their remarks precisely, as if they wanted you to hear them… As if they wanted you to walk up and say something to prove them wrong, or right. You bite at your lip and squint your eyes, silencing your inner rebellion. Your dignity and self respect tell you to hold your tongue, but your eyes and actions do not listen- your body language gives it away; and like a pack of wolves the onlookers pounce at ready to hear the perfect scandal.

Of course you tell them what you can, giving them the basics. They claw at you for more, the questions digging into your alibi and when you think you can’t take the interrogation anymore- you CRACK! It all pours out of you, your heart and soul, you tell them the truth as the shame wells up in your eyes and you’re forced to look away... You don’t get any pity, no comforting words. You look up and find your friends eyes among those that came because of the rumors, some look back to you in a knowing and forgiving manner- and others look away in disgust. The shamed tears run down your face and your heart breaks; but the crowd had dispersed and you feel no shame for the emotion gliding down the curves of your cheek, you feel your knees wobble and your energy and control leaves you. Swiftly you feel the ground becoming closer… And right before you feel the impact, something tugs you back; an unknown warmth pulls on your hands and steadies you on your feet. A guardian angel perhaps? Maybe I hit the ground to hard and I’m dreaming? You’d think to yourself, before you opened your eyes. And as soon as your lashes fluttered open a fresh stream would trickle from your eyes, from the amazing sight that you saw. With a smile tugging at your lips your eyes would behold, all of the friends you had seen in the crowd. Among those were the ones that you had shared a knowing glance with, as well as the ones that had seemed disgusted.

No matter the rumors, the actions, or the events, a friend should always be there for a friend. If you agree with their decisions or not you should be able to back them 100%, because if you cannot do that then how could you call yourself a friend? Only you know your friend, and only you can decide if the actions they took were the best considering their position; Do not always listen to ‘the word on the street’ because people can be misleading, as well as the information you heard could be just as fake as the person who told you it.

School Girl Crush.

David Bowie is incredible. He was born on January 8th 1947, full name David Robert Jones. He is an English musician, actor, producer, and arranger. I think he is most widely known for his work in the 1970’s. I dare say that all the Joneses’ out in the world should be proud to share the last name Jones with David, he is spectacular. David Bowie appears to have two different colored eyes but because of a fight in High School with his friend George Underwood (who later used his artistic skill to design the album covers of Bowie’s first few hits) over a girl, George punched David in the left eye. Doctors could not fully repair the harm, leaving his left pupil permanently dilated. Now he has faulty depth perception, both his iris’ are the same light blue but because the pupil of his left eye is wide open it appears to be brown; causing the eyes to look like they are two different colors. George and Bowie are still good friends. He’s been very successful throughout his life with his movies and music no matter the time period he had prospered, some examples of the genre of music he’s sung and played through the decades are:1947 to 1967: Early years1969 to 1973: Psychedelic folk to glam rock1974 to 1976: Soul, R&B, and The Thin White Duke 1976 to 1980: The Berlin era1980 to 1989: Bowie the superstar 1989 to 1991: Tin Machine1992 to 1999: Electronica1999 to present: Neoclassicist BowieHe’s also starred in a lot of movies, one of my personal favorites was The Labyrinth, a children’s and family based film. All the music involved in The Labyrinth is sung by David Bowie (except some echoes and chorus), as well as he has his ‘skunk’ hairdo and tight stretchy pants (ahaaaa). The follow and back up singer’s voices I think really leave an impact on the piece altogether, Bowie is amazing but without other voices to compare is awesomeness to he wouldn’t really sound that great, I think. But besides David looking and sounding astonishingly sexy in the film, it has a good plot and trippy scenes- it’ll blow your mind. My favorite character besides Bowie in the film would have to be Ludo, it’s an eight foot tall ‘big loveable lug’ according to Sarah, the main character. My favorite scene with Ludo is when it opens its mouth to call the rocks to help him, because these goblin creatures are beating him up with frog looking things (that have razor sharp teeth) on sticks! It’s hilarious! There’s also another character who is quite comical, Sir Didymus. Sir Didymus is approximately two feet tall and he is a schnauzer who thinks he is the bravest knight like one that would sit at King Arthurs round table, he proudly rides on Ambrosious; Ambrosious is Sir Didymus’ cowardly steed, it is actually a long haired sheep dog I believe. The plot of the story is that Sarah is trying to get back Toby (her little brother) who was kidnapped by Jareth (Bowie) and prove to him what is hers. I think that woman man haters club, Or a woman’s society against sexism or something probably wouldn’t like this film because of the role between Sarah and Bowie; Bowie throughout the film attempts to seduce Sarah and make her his queen, which just blows up in his face. But quite frankly, if I were in Sarah’s position I would have completely forgot about the ‘little’ brother and ran off with the tight panted Bowie; the alternate universe in which The Labyrinth is located is amazingly beautiful and tripilicious, the only place I would want to live more would probably be Wonderland.

Yes. I do have a ferocious crush on a man who is in his sixties, cause by god time hasn’t affected him much at all.

Vastness of a Mind.

I am sorry that I wasn’t what you wanted me to be, that I was lacking qualities in your eyes. . . I apologize that I was not there when I knew I could have helped, but didn’t- I am remorseful that the world has not been kind to you, and because of that you have become what you are, and ultimately are unchangeable. It is too late in your life, your habits have formed almost as instinct and change is impossible, not by any force of will can you be altered.

We all began existence in the usual way, as a cell- with the same characteristics and traits; In that form we were the same. . . It is the events that took place after our cellular simplicity that our individuality and process of thinking were developed. Everyone has a mind of there own, no two psyche are exactly alike and never in existence will there be two individuals who think precisely the same. For such a thing two occur two individuals would have to have experienced the same dealings, from the begging process of fertilizing the seed and early development, to birth, childhood, and so on. Anything that had occurred in ones life would have to have been mutual for the other, and out of all the possibilities, percentages, and ratios a thing like that will never happen- Concluding that no two minds will ever think exactly the same.

Stating that, I can tell you that I will never see your thoughts and opinions in the defined light that you see it, we might share a mutual belief but the things that create this belief within us might not be the same, and our thoughts will differ when contrasted in a separate light. I understand what you have done was a reaction to a decision of mine- I beg of you not to feel upset with my choice, nor to strain yourself trying to view from my perspective and accept why my verdict and actions were so. It is your choice as to how you further react, even to this blog. I am human, I feel, I cry, I breathe, and my heart does beat. . . But because of my past, I have been molded into a sensitive soul. A fragile thing, alert to the people and objects around her but unable to see them clearly for what they really are or might be capable of- But because of the events that have taken place I have been given new eyes, a new sense of acceptance and a mindset of self preservation. I am taking life into my own hands and I will no longer allow my relationships with people or future to be chosen for me by chance or poor decisions, I won’t be swayed by your words or your actions for I want to become strong. . . I hope that you will stand beside me, but do not expect me to become dependant on your opinions. I am tough enough to cope with this insane asylum of life on my own, but with a hand to catch me when I stumble it will be much easier. For those that are loyal and true. . . I love you within the most genuine depths of my broken little heart, I can guarantee that I will not see problems that may arise for you exactly the same as you do, but I will try to understand and help as much as is within my power for that is the duty of a true friend- and should be the medium that creates and defines a good person.

Defining and Contrasting Teenage Stereotypes

The 'Preps'
Music - Anything played on the secular radio stations and MTV.
Clothes - Mini-versions of what adults wear, but the skirts are shorter on the girls and the pants baggier on the guys.
Attitude - A very definite 'I'm better than you, no matter what' vibe comes across when talking to these college-headed teens. They tend to be intelligent and they always look like they are going to a movie premiere in Los Angeles.
Hang-outs - Class lounges, gym and locker areas.

The 'Goths'
Music - Generally hard-core or techno, with some punk mixed in there. Favourite bands are Bauhaus, Dead Can Dance, The Sisters of Mercy, Nine Inch Nails etc.
Clothes - Uniformly black, lots of silver jewellery, big boots.
Attitude - Morbid, tending to the over-romantic, and extremely intelligent, completely against the stereotype.
Hang-outs - Some out-of-the-way classroom where they can speak without being heard.

Skaters
Music - Anything that the 'Preps' are listening to, but none of the boy-bands or Divas.
Clothes - Baggy, sagging pants, tight pants, t-shirts with logos and big shoes.
Attitude - Cocky but not generally very intelligent. All are convinced that Skaters will someday, or quite possibly already are, ruling the world. Extremely respectful of women. This clique tends to mesh a lot with the 'Preps'.
Hang-outs - In front of the building where they can hacky-sack and ditch easily.

Freaks
Music - Punk, Hard core, some metal.
Clothes - Extremely bright and flashy, generally baggy pants and tight shirts, big shoes.
Attitude - Easily the most accepting of all the cliques, but if you get on their bad side, watch out. They run in groups and can be very dangerous.
Hang-outs - Cafeteria, where they can be part of the action.

Emos/ Scene
Music- Emocore, Screamo, Grunge, Electronica.
Clothes- Dark colors, hoodies, hearts, thick rimmed glasses, tight pants.
Attitude- Upset with the world, tend to believe the fact that "everyones against them", depressed/ing.

Hang-outs - Secluded areas away from the other stereotypes, birds of a feather.

I collected all the data above* for your personal benefit if you were unaware as to what Teenage Stereotypes were. I personally think that the stereotypes that are commonly seen in Junior and High School settings are unnecesisary and irritating. Most stereotypes do not interact with eachother, therefor dividing the student body, and as individuals they deprive themselves of friendships outside of their "group" or people in the same or related stereotype. Of course as an individual this is not their fault, they just figure its easier to be friends with someone just like themselves rather than trying to get along with someone who is different. But I dare you to try, Dare you to be different. Your stereotype is different than the others i'm sure, but be different as a person and set an example to your peers and friends. Try to prove to them that from the outside looking in the many stereotypes are different and could possibly be nothing alike, But that doesn't mean that the people in them are completely different and nothing like you. Don't be afraid to meet new people and make new friends, You never know what your missing out on until you try.

*There are several other stereotypes besides the listed above; I did not take the time to state them all because they are so vast and usually only slightly differ from the most prominent stereotypes. You must also take into consideration that there are people who already live by the suggestion [last paragraph] and cannot be placed into a category because they interact and have traits of many [stereotypes].
